IKEA: useful box packaging or less packaging

The shape/size of the box packaging for Ikea furniture is often not useful for anything other than recycling… it would be nice if I could re-purpose the packaging for moving or some other use too. Otherwise, just less packaging in general could be an alternative here as it seems to waste space and isn’t useful for anything else.

This makes a lot of sense. This idea also inspired another idea that could be a creative solution for this issue. Why not have huge recycling bin or a recycling center right there on site with incentives for customers who either bring back the excessive packaging material and or turn them in as they leave? Or maybe IKEA can work the city or the county to help facilitate this process? hmmmmm So many possible solutions to this great idea…..
