Virgin Group: Make Virgin America Flights Waste Free, Start by Eliminating disposable cups

From what I have been reading and hearing, Virgin as a brand and company clearly cares about its impact on the environment.

Since passengers have the option to buy reusable headsets for 2 or 3 bucks today, reducing costs and waste, with real marketing benefits as they are used after the flight (I’ve even seen people running with a Virgin America headset here in San Francisco), why not take the same approach with cups? Sell reusable cups and offer some kind of fun incentive, like a drawing for a gift card (a la Trader Joes), a free movie, or a shot of tequila to start a Vegas bender off right, for anyone who brings their own or buys one. Or use compostable disposables on board. Talk to some very successful local businesses that do it). And then actually compost them.

Think of the possibilities… a virtually waste free flight. No airline has gone there before.

nice, I really like this! I wonder how much waste is produced on these longer Virgin flights… I’m sure the number is pretty staggering, this could get interesting fast.
