Xbox 360 breaking just after warranty expiration

Flag As Inappropriatehuangcjz huangcjz about 1 year ago about Microsoft

The BBC consumer reports programme Watchdog has received over 250 complaints about the Xbox 360 games console breaking just after its warranty expires, with customers being told to pay around £85 for their Xbox 360s to be fixed. This shows that Microsoft are manufaturing the Xbox 360 either with poor quality control or unsustainably, designing it with a limited lifespan in mind and then expecting expecting customers to pay up once it breaks just after its warranty has expired – almost as a disposable product with a built-in expiration to its lifespan. This unsustainable production of consumer electronics has a highly negative impact upon the environment, and costs the customers money.

xbox 360 hardware is crap

miller about 1 year ago

yep… just happened to me too. sick, 85 quid repair for a console i paid over 400 quid for just over a year ago and now it doesn’t work. nice one microsoft damb shame, a good console but with obviously cheap shit hardware, i bet microsoft is saving itself a fortune on repairs, as though they haven’t got the money already. i think i’ll just bin mine and wait for the better version to come out with hdmi and bigger harddrive… no on second thoughts to hell with xbox the PS3 is better.
