Never Trust a Sony Ericsson Phone!

Flag As Inappropriatefunkyg funkyg about 1 year ago about Sony

About a year ago I had problems with a Sony Ericsson K700 phone. It was in my pocket and starting getting very hot. Eventually this got so bad that it would discharge in about 30 minutes. I contacted my phone network and they put me on to a Sony Ericsson service center. I will cut this bit short, but basically they told me that it was a short caused by water, even though I knew that it had never been in or near water (what I actually found later was that I was going from a hot humid atmosphere into air conditioning and this was causing water to condense on the phone and drip through the thumbstick).

The bit that really amazed me was when I contacted Sony Ericsson they did everything they could to palm me off. Their service charter says that they will respond in 2-3 days to all enquiries, yet they took about 2-3 weeks for each response. There last reply to me included a link to their service terms which when I clicked on it produced and error 404 (page not found). After this I sent them a reply listing the lousy customer service I had and saying that it was not surprising that Apple was now killing them in the music market. Possibly a bit strong I’ll admit, but their response to me….put me on their list of spam email!

Well done Sony this is one customer who WAS a fan of your phones.

Sony has always bothered me. They have this certain air to their products that make it seem like they are trying to take over the world through the electronics market. I had one of those crappy mini-disc players and I always had to convert formats to what they wanted and could never get my music off of it. Not to mention it took forever. Also it broke one week after the one year limited warranty wore off. Thanks a lot Sony. Samsung all the way!
