Apparently doing the right thing works and people are noticing. Microsoft was just announced as having the best reputation for a corporation. This recognition comes at the hands of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation more then anything. Halliburton with its ties to the White House and over-inflated and misuse of government funds falls at the bottom of the list, even below Enron. The funny thing is that I once applied for a job with Halliburton and probably would have received a job offer from them but it just did not feel right for me.

chique to do the right thing

rod about 1 year ago

Although I wouldn’t be too quick to attribute the accomplishments of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to Microsoft. The message is powerful.

The “power of philanthropy” has hit it big recently. It is really chique (and effective), from Bill Gates and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to Bono and the RED campaign.

I have to say that this movement is gaining strength, making a real positive impact and more than ever encouraging people to take on the world’s most daunting and challenging social issues.

I am fascinated by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation’s activities, they have audacious plans to tackle serious social issues. If you are not familiar with what this powerful organization supports read here for more about their grantee profiles.

Microsoft has the best reputation for a corporation? Thanks for the laugh… I wonder how much that honor cost them? Seriously, Microsoft is pretty low on the list of Corporations that deserved to be honored for much of anything other than being highly anti-competitive. Which, by the way, has stifled innovation & growth in the IT industry and negatively affected many others.

Also, The BMG philanthropy foundation has nothing to do with the Microsoft Corporation other than being Bill Gates cash cow. Bill & Melinda Gates damn well better be giving a tons of that money to those that are in need. Especially, considering that an obscene amount of that money has been repeatedly swindled from Americans and other people around the globe through extremely questionable means.
