Earthwatch, Starbucks + GIS technology work together to improve sustainable coffee farming

The Earthwatch Institute is a leading environmental volunteer organization that has worked together with Starbucks on 15 other conservation campaigns.

Recently, the two organizations have extended their partnership whereby Starbucks has committed $1.1million that will benefit 2600 cooperative coffee farms. This most recent announcement will utilize GIS technology to study soil erosion, water quality and other factors critical to coffee farmers.
