I stumbled across this while browsing East Meets West Foundation’s website (yes- shameless plug for EMW, a phenomenal NGO working in Vietnam, that I used to work for). Anyways, goodsearch.com is a search engine that donates half of its earned revenue (from advertising) to charity. All you have to do is select the charity of choice and voila, every time you do a search, the org you selected will recieve $. Charities you support will be getting $$ at NO COST to you! All the orgs are registered and verified so you don’t have to worry about the money falling (or not falling) into the right hands…
“GoodSearch estimates each search will raise $0.01 for your designated charity. That means 100 supporters searching twice a day could generate $730 a year, 1000 supporters means $7,300, and 10,000 supporters searching twice a day could generate $73,000!” (from eastmeetswest.org)
And, although these amounts might not seem significant to some, a dollar goes a long way in countries like Vietnam.

This is an absolutely great idea – I highly suggest getting the search extensions at http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbars.aspx.
My only wish was that they could have used the Google search engine. Then it would have been perfect.
