Tesco and Open University reach Clubcard Degree-payment Agreement

A deal between Tesco and the Open University will allow shoppers to use their clubcard points to contribute to OU course fees. The best part is that £10 worth of clubcard points will pay for £40-worth of fees. Much of the press are reporting the story as “exchanging points for OU degrees”, or words to that effect, which is a little strange considering customers will still have to do all the study a degree requires. Realistically, customers would have to have a vast amount of clubcard points to pay for an entire degree, but the OU’s claim that this is yet another step by which to make University study more accessible to the public seems reasonable.
