Starbucks says goodbye to rBGH milk products

This first came up here @ dotherightthing several months ago. Perhaps this powerful community is already changing the world after only one day following its debut!

After years of controversy and debate Starbucks has decided to stop using rBGH milk products in many of their stores. Consequently, the more expensive soy option is no longer the only alternative for customers who aren’t interested in ingesting rBGH.

Unfortunately, Starbucks has not committed to taking these products out of their stores nationwide, starting only with their stores in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Montana and New Mexico for example.

Among the possible downsides for their customers is higher costs for Starbucks already expensive products!

“Unless they are willing to absorb a higher cost and take a smaller profit, they will have to pass it on to the consumer,” Thompson said. “They will have to pay more to get the product.”
