Bank of America announces $20 BILLION to back environmentally smart business practices

Flag As InappropriateDrFitz DrFitz about 1 year ago about Bank of America

That’s billion with a B. Most of the money ($18B) is earmarked for corporate programs, such as lending to companies seeking to create green services, financing the construction of energy-efficient buildings, and assisting with carbon-emissions trading. Some of the money is also direct to consumer lending, such as reduced mortgage interest rates for energy-efficient homes and credit cards with points for donations to conservation organizations. Maybe this is not much more than what the market is heading toward already, but announcing a commitment of this size is still pretty significant in signalling entrepreneurs that access to capital for green investments will be there for a significant planning horizon.
