Google offers free bikes to employees

Flag As InappropriateNicspic2608 Nicspic2608 over 2 years ago about Google

I recently found this interesting post on Google Blogoscoped. about Google improving their green credentials.

“Google recently urged their employees to commute to work without the use of a car…they offered every single of their 2,000 European employees a new bike”.

This will help to reduce the environmental impact of travelling to work, and also get the Google name out there on the streets! I think this is a great way of doing the right thing, as they have brought the problem home. Not only do they want to be ‘green’ as a brand, they also want their employees to make a change in their consumption patterns. It may seem like a small change, but these small things make a difference.

This story has also been covered in the Guardian.

Despite it’s reputation for world domination plans, Google has always promoted itself as a socially responsible and green company.

Wish more companies would do that for employees IE in Spring- Fall seasons. & store bikes for next year use. Nice.
