Lifetime activist in SF Bay Area and Manhattan, now in Reno, NV. With sometimes as many as 60 people I saw as many Reps. and Sens. as I could on the eve of the War Powers Act vote in Oct 'o2. Schumer and Clinton wouldn't see us. Clinton's staff told us she had already made up her mind. Rengel was a no vote. Pelosi changed her vote from yes to no after meeting with us. Starhawk led the group. Feinstein is a war profiteer and wouldn't see us nor acknowledge the overwhelming calls v. very few supporting the assault on Iraq. THAT was when we needed to act. Let us remember that going forward. It's never too late, but there are also critical times and they are very early on. WE MUST NOT LET THE MONSTERS ASSAULT IRAN OR SYRIA. After that I really felt like there was no making a difference with our elected officials. I went out into the street and made Websites and grouped with folks on both coasts. But we were not heard. Our millions made no difference. What more could we have done? I've been a Green partier and voter since '96. Voted Dem in 2004 but wish I hadn't, though I definitely will again. I had better be voting for Obama. And then we all had better be voting green in '12.
